No party, no group of people, no single person, gets to decide what is "fair amount of taxes." That is a preposterous notion because fair is not a specific amount or rate.

Everybody needs to be in on the decision about what rate(s) we agree to pay to a govt that is supposed to be working for us, not the other way around.

Yes, you do have to raise taxes when the government is in over 20 TRILLION DOLLARS in debt, and you have just had a huge recession that cut down the government’s income. So now the government needs money to make up for the money lost in COVID
