Could it have something to do with a certain political party having a hard time accepting the 2016 results to the point that there are some who align to it who still hold on to that denial and unacceptance?

I always hear this; what it overlooks is the fact HRC picked up the phone and conceded to Trump before sunrise the next day.

Russiagate, impeachment, etc. were about specific conduct and in fact were efforts to ensure election integrity from foreign powers going forward. Neither one sought to “invalidate” the results of an election.

But for his part, Trump has already hinted he’s challenging this election in court. Will he be able to do so credibly if he loses by as much as predicted?

Yeah Hillary had conceded in an official sense but that was all. She still could be heard within the last 6 months expressing herself about it. You've read the people on here complaining also, not yourself I'm referring too at least that I recall.
I think there will be lots of court case troubles from both sides this time. I would say the repub with the extension of mail in ballot return dates will be the most contested.
I'm about to settle in now for watching the returns, good luck with your choices too.
