“The Bible has twisted verses that I can’t imagine coming from god”
So you’re judging the Lord’s teachings only based off of what you want to think He would say. You just “can’t imagine” it even though it’s real.
I can’t say I’m too surprised since lots of LGBT people do this anyway, but still.
And now let’s take a look at all these verses you took out of context:
Leviticus 20:9 - Hmmm... I don’t see any Christians putting their children to death after they were cursed by them. For some reason I have this feeling that you relate with the child who cursed his parents, and you tried to make it okay for yourself by twisting the verses in your favor.
But that is besides the point. The point is: that’s Jewish law. The Jewish law was put there to show that everyone is guilty. Nobody can fulfill the law. Everyone has lied, everyone has murdered, and everyone has put things above God (to name a few of the commandments). Jesus was the one who fulfilled the law, and he payed the price for the sins we committed since he committed none. But since Jesus died to save those who accepted him, does that still make it okay to sin? Of course not. Every sin you make as a Christian is a sin Jesus died for as well; not just the ones you made before.
Ephesians 6:5 - I see no problem with this verse. You know why? Because “whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” - 1 Corinthians 10:31.
There’s also this passage:
“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.” - Romans 13: 1-5
And I’ll be right back to explain what this verse means and mention the next verse. I have reached the word limit.
