well, murderer is murder no matter the reason...but if it was self defense and you genuinely tried EVERYTHING else then i would say go into investigation...if the evidence points to it...then i would say no

it depends, if you could have simply stopped the attacker without killing them then yes, but if they were able to kill you much easier then you attacked them with some kind of weapon then no.

In my opinion, you should never kill someone in self-defense unless you have no other choice. If someone comes to my home unarmed to rob me I'm not going to kill him, I might shoot him, If I can't keep my belongings any other way, but I won't shoot to kill. But if he comes to murder me and/or my family, I will evaluate the situation, and if I feel like the situation cannot be abated without someone's death I will make sure it's his death, not mine or one of my family.

this is assuming there is footage that it was self defense, someone could kill another person and say its self defense. no, it shouldn't be a crime, but it would be hard to prove that its self defense. if a teen whos mom has an abusive boyfriend kills the boyfriend, he should be in prison for a much shorter time than a man who killed their neighbor. should still be in prison, because lets put it this way, he did kill someone. if someone killed in self defense, they shouldnt get in jail, but it would be hard to prove that it was actually self defence.
