I am a Trump supporter myself, but I still think Trump bashing should be allowed. This stream has too many stupid rules.

Is the prevailing ethos of ImgFlip (so long as stream rules do not themselves violate ImgFlip's own site rules), and it's a good one.

Streams need moderation in order to stay relevant and topical. So that cat memes aren't posted in the dogs stream, dog memes aren't posted in the cats stream, bikini memes aren't posted in the Middle-School stream, and a million other hypotheticals.

In this case, I've made an executive decision not to permit Trump bashing because: A. There are a million other streams where you can do it; B. I am still genuinely hopeful we get some Republicans to join this stream; C. In all likelihood, Trump will be riding off into the sunset in a few days anyway; D. Chattering about controversial topics in American politics just doesn't really serve the goals of this roleplay government.

I am definitely open to political debate here, but I would like it to be substantive debate about new or interesting topics. Not rehashing inflammatory subjects like whether homosexuals should in fact be able to marry or whether Trump is the worst President in American history.

Good luck with that. I saw you insult a Republican on the comment section of a meme inviting Republicans to this stream. You have also blocked me from running for president here, so you will probably block every Republican that isn't a RINO from running as well.

Let me flesh that thought out a bit

As one purpose of this stream, I would like it to be a place where memers can come to talk substance about vital topics in government like:

—Heathcare
—Science
—Education
—Foreign policy
—Governmental structure
—The U.S. Constitution
—Human rights

As there is not much conversation about these topics elsewhere.

No, it is not a place for you to express homophobia or any other bigotry or, on the other hand, for liberals to rehash debates about Trump that continually take place elsewhere on ImgFlip.

Anyone who approaches the stream with that attitude is subject to modding or ridicule or some combination thereof.

I still think there should be more freedom of discussion here, but it's your steam I guess.
