Honestly I don’t care about straight pride. It just seems dumb to me because they have all of their rights. They where never hated. They never had the pressure of coming out and being disowned by their parents.

So like, I am confused?
Ok the LGBTQ+ get one month a year to be themselves (granted that some homophobic people are still out there lurking like bad storm clouds) Are you asking for a month? I mean, I see both sides. Yes, We have out LGBTQ+ Pride month and the Heterosexual and Cisgender people are not attacked purely for being Hetero or Cis, no one has ever been discriminated against purely on the grounds of being Hetero or Cis. No one has been disowned, beaten or shunned for being Hetero and Cis. (From what I know)

We accept Hetero and Cis allies here, always have and always will, some of them are the nicest people you will meet. But I feel like it is a little unfair to ask that we tone it down and put a damper on one of the best things you can be, which is being true to yourself. I am not sure if I misunderstood or what. I mean, you can be proud of anything you want, wether it’s being straight or Cis, being LGBTQ+, it doesn’t phase me one bit but, that said, you can’t expect someone who have fought for their right to be who they are to tone it down for for your comfort. I don’t know if you meant that you want us to tone it down for you to be accepted or something else entirely.

The whole “straight pride” idea if most of it wasn’t tearing down LGBTQ+ to make the straights and cis look better. We have never gone around saying “Down with the straights” and if we ever do, you bet your money I will be at home drinking coffee, minding my business and shaking my head in disagreement cause tearing down of any human and their feelings, their sexuality, their gender identity or any other thing will not fly with me.

I support everyone. Straights, gays, transgenders, and more.

But, straights were never made fun of, hurt, disowned, ETC for being straight. Cisgenders and straight people really have no reason to protest about straight pride. (That I know of)

Look, I appreciate that you support us. I misread the situation. I recognize now that you didn't mean anything inherently offensive by it. Just know that "straight pride" is a major red button in the LGBTQ stream, because straight people already have rights and you'll immediately be assumed to be homophobic.
