Wrong, the threat to the country is the left and their Censorship and attacks on the constitution. If you want to support the thugs and kids that are rioting vote Democrat. Everybody else will vote republican.
All Third parties do is take votes away from the party they are most closely similar too.
It's sad but true.
Bill Clinton would not have been elected if not for Ross perot and Al Gore would have beaten George W if not for Ralph Nader.
As the left and the right polarize it is possible a viable third party of moderates could succeed. Not for this election but the next. But it would need to be moderate not crackpot. Maybe encompassing Conservative Democrats and Liberal Republicans. There use to be such things.
I doubt they could get enough from either to win and most likely they would draw from one candidate more than the other.
The real power that a third party candidate can have it seems is to help push the party most similar to them into supporting their agenda more.
Like bernie has done with the Democrats in a way.
A Moderate third party would drive a move to the center as each side tried to ally themselves to it. Independents somewhat cause this but they need to form together and form an actual third Party that actually moderates the extremes.
