Having homosexual tendencies is absolutely not unnatural, but they are not the way sexual tendencies were created either. Let’s go back to basic science here. The male and female genitalia were meant for each other, there is not doubt about that in any sense. A disorder is something that is not created in the way it was generally intended. Examples of these things include mental illnesses and disabilities, all the way down to a simple asymmetry (Example being one thumb being 3 mm from the pointer finger more than the other thumb). I like to identify lgbtq supporters as generally Liberal, so I would like to make a point.

You Liberals market yourselves as for equality and tolerance, but when someone says you have a disorder you defend yourself as if it’s a bad thing. That makes no sense to me.

The sad part is that “disorder” is generally referred to as a negative term, which needs to change. But the fact of the matter is, having a disorder is not a bad thing at all. I have several of them, in fact. Anxiety, Depression, bad eyesight, odd thumbs, and a bunch more.

But "abnormal" is just as negatively connotated as "disorder"... perhaps even more so. If we want a new word, I'd go for "extraordinary" which in its literal sense means something that isn't ordinary and has been in a much more positive use overall. 😉

Well, evolution doesn't create. It's the random mutations that create new things that weren't there before - you could call them disorders if you want - and evolution is simply the process of finding out which of those mutations are better than others. So, yes, in a way homosexuality at some point was one of those random mutations. Somewhen in our earth's history nature just tried something new and ever since there have been animals and later humans not mainly focused on physical reproduction. And by the sheer fact that that concept is still around today must mean even though those gay animals and humans probably didn't reproduce themselves they must've been very useful to their species as a whole. What exactly those benefits are or were is still being discovered but that's not the important part. The important part is that homosexuality isn't a new invention - it has been around for a long time. And at some point it's just not a mutation anymore - it's part of the normal status quo now. By comparison, the idea to not accept homosexuality is still fairly new and is - by that logic - much more of a disorder.

well, here's the problem. a disorder is a disadvantage. it's fine to have one, but it's still a disadvantage. so if you say being gay or something like that is a disorder, you're saying it's a bad thing.

That’s where I take issue with the word disorder. It is a disorder, as it is not the way it was intended via evolution or a greater power, but it is not a disadvantage unless you believe in a religion condemning homosexual acts or homosexuals themselves. I believe “disorder” shouldn’t be negative. If there were another word, I would use that.
