Caveat: some of the lies Pence in particular had to spew to get through the evening were still wild and crazy (including most worryingly, no plan to stand up to Trump if he rejected a peaceful transfer of power), and it was worrying how smoothly he sold them
but still, this debate was within the range of recognizably normal politician behavior
in 2020 terms: definitely good enough for a well done
