it isn't. I have autism, and I'll tell you what it is:
Austism/Aspergers is a mental condition in which people learn and see things in a different way.
There are 3 basic classes: Low functioning, Medium Functioning, and High Functioning.
Low functioning is the typical ones you think when you hear autism. They can be walking impaired and speech impaired, but they are just as smart, *or more smart* than normal people, in fact they are usually smarter, some just can't express themselves because they are speech impaired and can't talk. But they are not retarded.
Medium Functioning autistic people can still be walking/speech impaired, but it's much more rare for medium functioning people. But they still have issues from all levels (emotional control, being anti-social, lack of friends, etc.)
High Functioning autism is what I have. I'm not even sure if they can be walking/speech impaired at all, lol. They function the best of all but STILL have autistic problems (some listed above) otherwise they wouldn't even be autistic.
Extra stuff:
Albert Einstein and Mozart might have actually has autism, high functioning.
Autistic people feel more empathy than normal people.
Autistic people are usually smarter.
