People can determine truth, that doesn't mean they created it.

People are able to discern the truth. People can ascertain the truth.

People don't cause that which is true to exist.

The issue here, is the question uses a word that means both to create or to ascertain.

People can figure out what is true.
People don't create what is true with their beliefs.

That which is true, continues to be true, even if you don't believe it.

I agree with you on this. I also just have to say, it is funny hearing that last statement from an atheist. Don't kill me for saying that, just got a kick out of it :) Don't think I don't respect your opinion. Everyone is allowed to believe as they do. That is the beauty of western civilization. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

People like to think they determine truth, but not everyone does well. The existence of more than 1 type of government, Religion, or moral systems proved this. If people could determine truth well, 1 type of government would be universally accepted, 1 main religion, and 1 moral code.

I like this premise, and think it extends even further.

If people determined truth well, would a government be needed?

Would a religion be needed?

Seems to me, if people determined truth well, we may find a way to organize as yet unimagined.

Agreement in a single moral code would be AMAZING

It really would. All current economic systems would look absolutely stupid compared to what we would have. However, people would still be subject to pride and greed. It's human nature. We would still need to have a government to protect people's rights, and a religion would be needed if it is true. Religion isn't here to control people. People will practice religion because they believe in God. If we could all determine truth, God would not cease to exist or pop up if he wasn't there. There are two possible cases of what would happen. God exist or doesn't. If he does, we would have religion. If not, we would not have religion. Of course, that religion or lack thereof would cause 1 universal moral code IF people weren't the selfish, prideful beings they are. There would most likely be a level of opposition to everything, sadly.

Even if people maintained greed and pride, it wouldn't matter, because we could determine when people were operating at their worst.

We could tell if that CEO was making the investment for the good of the company, or for their own greed based reasons.

Sure, if a government was needed, we would have one, but we could make a determination about a government being needed too. Being able to discern truth, would be humanity changing.

You have a concept worthy of a science fiction series here.

Sadly, I'm not a writer. If I was, you probably won't like most of my writing, since I lean right wing and libertarian in my political views. If you can write well, feel free to use this concept in a book. I would love to read it.

I like Ender's Game series, and the author OSC is far right. Your politics doesn't inform my opinion of your fictional entertainment.

If I ever write some sci fi, consider this concept included. I won't be able to forget it

Ender's game is good. What I meant is that I would probably be writing dystopian novels with ideas similar to Ayn Rand"s, which are really far right-leaning. That was my bad assuming you would not like the book because of politcal views, though. If I ever do get into writing and world building, I would probably pull a huxley and write a utopian and dystopian book both centered around this idea. I would actually like to see both Left and Right wing takes on this premise.

It could be that every religion has a God that is real. It also could be that people ingested psychedelic drugs and all had a similar trip because that’s what tends to happen with that stuff
