We're currently building about 1.2 million housing units PER YEAR, did about 2 million a year in W's first term, even more during Nixon/Ford, and that's only counting private construction. Making a quarter of those "sustainable" is not an extraordinary leap. I'll reserve judgement on the building upgrades.

Thx for the fyi! I think joe was saying retro-green on the existing 4m commercial and 2m homes, and building 1.5m new ones that are totally efficient. I thought wtf and calc'd it. It seemed crazy-imposibl! lol Our govt is bigger than it seems. :-)
