Well you’re right that had not play halo three, but things are cheaper, pack a laser that can cut through 2 meter thick steel like butter.

The scarab can cut through anything like butter

But it’s primary weapon(the one you’re talking about) has to charge up for a decently long time for a small burst of energy, while laser boat can fire for a ridiculously long time, and can charge in between battles. Thus being superior and cheaper.
