It’s a long, harrowing, and inspirational read, and well worth it. I can confirm the training aspect to be 100% accurate, both in the bullying and the brainwashing. My son has told me as much.

I’m glad the author touched on this:

Any inquest into the event would definitely bring it up to at least dissavow or imply its part in her death.
