Well, I guess we’re trying to have a conversation but all the comments I’ve deleted here violate TOS against harassment in my opinion.

I’ve tried to incorporate his substantive points in my replies so no information is lost.

I’ve tried to carry on a conversation with this memer in the hopes of educating him, rather than simply deleting his first comment (which is still standing) and moving on with my day.

I was hopeful this could be a teachable moment. Maybe anyone who is stopping by can learn.

I’ve never talked to you before, no idea who you are or why you think you know all about my ImgFlip activity but okay.

Looks like you only follow the MiddleSchool stream which suggests you’re pretty young. I don’t like to get into arguments with those half my age or less — and I could just delete your rude comment since I have Mod powers here — but this is a teachable moment and I generally prefer to educate than delete.

All you have to do is look at the streams I follow and mod to see my commitment to ImgFlip is way broader and deeper than those “deserted” NSFW streams you love to hate (but many of which are quite large).

You only follow the Middle-School stream but you appear to have learned your commenting style from the “politics” stream where just about anything goes but memes and comments threatening genocide and death.

This isn’t “politics” and Mods of other streams on ImgFlip can and do draw the line of harassment at different places.

If you don’t like the modding here on this stream then don’t come here.

Again, I assume you are young but if you’re in puberty, then a reckoning with sexual issues is right around the corner if it hasn’t hit you already.

Unless you are completely asexual, you are going to have sexual feelings in your lifetime and are going to struggle with them to an extent, and feel the shame that society has taught you to feel about sexuality.

When it comes to NSFW content, contributing to streams dedicated to that purpose helps keep ImgFlip generally open for business to controversial and taboo subjects, as well as to the notion of exploring our sexualities (straight, gay, or otherwise) and deepening our aesthetic appreciation of the human body.

If you want to scoff at or don’t want NSFW content on ImgFlip entirely, then you favor a world where women’s bodies must be constantly covered even in artistic depictions the way they must be in uber-conservative Islamic countries across the Middle East.

That’s a recipe for sexual repression and misogyny and the total opposite of women’s progress.

—To your point about art: A great amount of artistic heritage would have been lost to the sands of time if historians and archaeologists failed to preserve it because they were prudish about depictions of the human body. See: This bust of Venus de Milo. (And in fact, that did actually happen anyway: a lot of ancient art has been lost that we’ll never know about because it was deliberately destroyed for offending someone’s morals.)
