I'm still a Rush fan. Anthem is one of my favorite songs and is reportedly titled after an Ayn Rand work. 2112 was later released which borrowed from the story.
Neil Peart was well read and I think intelligent. Perhaps in the immaturity of his 20's he hung his hat on Rand's Objectivism hastily. His later lyrics portrayed a more egalitarian slant.
All that said I've yet to read Rand's work but would like to add it to my repertoire.

Another clue they have a song on Test for Echo called Limbo. It's an instrumental and they cited it as their disdain of being conflated with the other Rush on the radio.
I heard it in the album's premiere on L.A's KLOS. I'm not finding a reference online to the comments.
Ayn Rand was a hypocritical, opportunistic c**t who’s “philosophy” of ethical egoism (essentially screw others lest ye be screwed) blew up in her face later in life when she was living off social security and died on Medicare.
And that’s about as nice as I can put it for Ayn f**king Rand.
Under normal circumstances, I’d agree. Someone like this is deserving of sympathy, but considering the long-lasting damage she’s done to the American political landscape, I can’t back off my original position.
