I know this is an awful conclusion to come to. One might think reaching the front page will be a great experience. It was, yet ironically discussing that feeling is apparently the worst. If not so paradoxically selfishly inclined at heart (so why share with others in first place) to enjoy the moment?

One spirals into noticing how the comments of excitement and their lack of replies or merest upvotes are empty. [1,2] And ones own excitement ought to be muted. And that feeling that made one passionate to get to the top in the first place? It's a worthless mirage of how one thinks other guys might feel.

This is not a hateful rant; it's a good thing. For it allows one [myself] to share with many, the realist conclusions honestly. This site is marked for the enjoyment of socially masculine pleasures. It's never going to be this wonderful commune where individuals who want to get along CAN get along. Because wanting THAT is antithetical to already doing that and being them (that already know how to get along without expressions (of the soon pointless spiral of deconstructive emotions)).

And the wails in particular otherwise will like this sorry post be never appreciated. So why when the actual problem is laid out in black and white, try? Because of course we are sheep to amuse those who are satisfied to watch shepherds. If imgflip weren't broken it could not be unfixable. And hence no one would have so much disingenuous fun!

Looks nice, but you do forget one important thing. THIS IS A COMMUNITY. Responding to one another is one of the core essences of a community, and being ignored on a community site is very depressing. What is true is that many people always expect too much of a community, and start to rant too soon a community is dying when the number of post is dropping slightly. However coming up with "never give up/downvotes and never comment" that's something that is an actual way to kill the community as a whole.

And actually this is a hateful rant, disguised a "kind" story. A very kind way to say "You are ignored? Well get over it, sucker!". That quote I came up with contains less words, is very extremely rude, but content wise saying the same thing. I'm a novel writer, so writing in a way that should challenge the reader to read between the lines is a discipline I also practice. Of course, begging for upvotes is not a very good thing, but this is a very subtle attempt to turn things to the other extreme. Actually do you know what lack of appreciation can do with somebody? Yes even a silly meme being ignored?

Of course, I've been on many communities for the past 20 years, if not longer by now. And funny thing is that getting them killed always starts with posts like these or the posts that the "forum is dying" (mostly causing it to die by posting that).

I dont believe these words you have quoted constitute the words of hate. Maybe my bar is higher. There is the idea of tough love.

Thanks for your well thought out reply. It makes me feel better. At least as you say I'm not being ignored. Really though I hoped to avoid that mere conclusion. I went to plains of writing to suggest a special kind of being ignored.

That is having one's emotions ignored. If anything what I wrote was self-hating with a dose of transference. Emotions are something I hope to work on paying attention to in myself and others.

Mostly besides the being ignored... there is the sense of irrationality. Then again some peoples bar is higher for that too. This is where we were saying something similar.

The irrational often erodes connections. We may think there are bonds where there are not. That was my point: males are often NOT bothered, to their credit, by being in turn unbothered by mere lost connections. Sort of two negations make a positive thing.

On the other hand, females seem to need to know contrarily that they are not being irrational. Which may be impossible when, as you point out forces are even having an appearance of causing things to go wrong. (Please except my apology for sexism.)

Still I cannot except that I am more than a mirror rather than an ill wind. True I often miss the notion of communities. That may be a blindness. But again does that make me a hater. (Rhetorical.)
