Or: what we once thought were the GOP’s “traditional principles” of religiosity, fiscal conservatism, genuine patriotism, and limited government were all along just window-dressing masking over the bigotry, anti-social hate, science denialism, and corporate sycophancy that was always part and parcel of the Republican Party and is now plain to see.
