Hold up! Let's talk about the changes!

So apparently lots of you don't like the changes to this stream. Understandable I totally get it. So let me explain.

No one was really modding this stream and it's turned into lots of either Mason harassing everyone or everyone harassing Mason, which both need to stop. Also lots of I'm going to commit memes, with varying degrees of helpful to downright mean comments.

The rest was just you all being middle schoolers posting cool memes but because of the other stuff I had to make it approval only. If the Mason and suicide stuff improves so there's less bullying going on auto approved will probably return. Deal?

If you prefer to see hot versus new I can change it back no problem. Let me know, personally I think it gives everyone a fair chance to have their content seen if it's set to recent.

And it was originally 5 submissions, which I set to 3 but now it's 4. A good compromise don't you think? There's a bazillion other streams you can post to.

I want to hear from all you awesome people though. What do you want from the Middle school stream?

P.S. I'll be seeing how various members conduct themselves here and will add mods accordingly :)

I like how you approached the deal about mason and what happened surrounding that and I like what you are saying about suicidal images and such, I want to get some thoughts out of the way and the what I think the middle school stream should be like and then why. First off I had NO idea the stream had moderates and I’m glad it does, I had assumed they all left and got tired of imgflip. Now I want to talk about what the stream should be

1. 5 submissions

2. Auto approve unless it’s looks to be NSFW or something like that (i don’t remember)

3.Publicly list the moderators so if someone needs to report a harassment or bullying that

Here are my reasons
A lot of people use this stream, it’s where new people get points and get known, and I say from experience, I bet some people like scar, Del, even others like artic creeper or Herman the crab, they all most likely had to start of small by posting good and funny memes. Maybe not all of them. How I see imgflip is like one big big house where every room is a stream and people come into these rooms feeling 2 ways, 1 is to try something and 2 is knowing you will enjoy it, the middle school stream would need to have a room big enough to house 300 people give or take at a time so it would be big, and if you have ever been in a room with a lot of people who are young, you know someone’s gonna be misbehaving and that’s why we have moderators to find this source and exterminate it and if people know the moderators the can report it. If your worried about bad and bully memes then if you have the semi auto mod or whatever it is, it auto approves memes that appear to be good and let’s one that look sketchy go to the approval queue. Granted does this always work, no but it is a solution.

My plan or idea may not be perfect I think it could lead us somewhere

One last thing to: if you need moderators don’t give them to people who already have 1000000000000 points or a bunch of followers or whatever it may be, and I mean offense to any of the people. Some I’m good friends with, but the mod jobs should go to someone who not only posts frequently on the middle school stream, but also isn’t that well known or hasn’t really blown up yet. Someone deserving of a big role like this

I think the changes are good, this limits harassing memes which were a problem in this stream, having active moderators and non-autoapproval when there is two community moderators as owner will get memes featured extremely fast, i also like seeing it as new, it shows more memes then the usual 10

I'd like for people that post here a lot to get a mod spot I guess.
