I see your meaning now. I thought you meant it was a myth that riots existed. You are the now the first person I've heard claim the riots are a myth. I'm not sure if you are a liberal or a member of the media, however.

They occurred but they're blown way out of proportion: Footage blared over and over again sometimes months after they occur or even footage stolen from other countries (e.g. Trump ads using footage of Ukraine protests from 2014)
