I agree mostly. However, I do think it's about time to take sides on this, so to speak.
The more I learn about Antifa -- particularly when you do an apples-to-apples comparison of their violence levels, i.e. punching Nazis and at worst looting/burning buildings, with those of right-wing extremists, i.e. mass shootings and deliberately weaponized vehicles driven through packed crowds of protestors -- the more I'm convinced Antifa has been unfairly slimed and scapegoated for today's problems. The entire "politics" stream points the finger at Antifa/BLM while turning a blind eye to, or even celebrating, gun-waving (McCloskeys), police shootings (take your pick), vigilante shootings (Kenosha), and things like weaponized vehicle attacks (I saw one such meme a couple months ago that took waaaaaay too long to unfeature: I was even told it was flagged and re-approved *twice* before finally taken down).
Yeah the most radical ones are not 100% peaceful from time to time and hold views far to the left of my own -- but so do the guys on the Right and again the right-wing body count is way, way higher. I've actually read Antifa has been responsible for zero deaths: That may not always hold going forward, but it certainly pales in comparison to the dozens and dozens over the past several decades from Righties. Force must be met with force sometimes.
So, I am planning a series of Antifa memes with the intention of countering the right-wing propaganda about them.
I've never talked with anyone from Antifa, never punched a Nazi in the face, never hurled a Molotov, and actually never marched with BLM although I have an entire stream
imgflip.com/m/Pro-Black for promoting their goals.
I do not consider myself much of a joiner, but that's not really the point since the movement is so highly decentralized. Doesn't seem like a "proud card-carrying member" kind of group, but more like Antifa is as Antifa does.
So rather than Antifa perhaps more accurate to say I'm the founding member of Antiflip. :)
