Hey, true story... I not only live in Delaware, I’m within a mile or so from where Joe’s first wife was killed.
When my family first moved here, my Dad pointed it out. Now that we have our own house, I am near that spot. I just looked it up, and my Dad was right after all. Good selling point, lol :-)

Wow, that's something! Somehow I thought you were in San Diego. My wife was born in Wilmington, but moved when she was young. Our only claim to fame is that we're within a mile of where the town of Snohomish turned out to repel a vandalism attempt by Antifa (that made the national news and it was reported that there were a bunch white supremacists (total bs)). We were there and it was like a huge block party (we hung out by "the most haunted building in Washington", The Oxford Saloon, our other claim to fame. :-))

When I was a teen, I wanted to live in California.
Not for the normal reasons, I liked the Beach Boys, and the surfing life sounded cool. As if that wasn’t enough, I also wanted to look for gold in them thar hills!

Hey, you're just down the road! The Beach Boys are one of my favorite groups, so much so that my first name is Brian and I named my dog "Wilson" (he was my 50th birthday present).
I worked every summer in the '80's in Bristol Bay, Alaska and every spring the winter watchman tried to get me to work his claim. It's probably better that I didn't take him up on it because it probably would have played out like "The Shining". Now I see there is a big controversy there over permitting mining that could potentially threaten the salmon runs.

I know the feeling. I've been eligible for retirement for a few years, but just can't pull the plug. My wife is pushing for me to retire and my body is helping her so we'll see. :-)
