Don't forget about Tolkien fans... As soon as they find out you are a HP fan as well, they'll consider you a disgrace to the Tolkien "church"... Yeah.. Tolkien is like a religion to them, and all other other fantasy works are like sacrilege to them and for some reason Harry Potter most of all.

Never read Le Guin, but I guess I gotta look her work up. I've heard a Tolkien fan once rant about Elfquest due to the pointy ears as (saint) Tolkien never mentioned pointy ears as a racial trait for Elves. Problem for him was though, Elves are not a creation by Tolkien but come from ancient folklore and there are very old pictures of Elves with pointy ears. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. It's not that I don't like Tolkien (the LOTR movies that is, as the books are very hard to get through, to be honest), and I am a writer myself and Tolkien is one of my big examples when it comes to world building... But the anti-Harry Potter talk there is really getting annoying.

By the way, I got a blog scheduled to appear in 8 months in which I sorted the characters from Star Wars (the prequel and original movie series) into Hogwarts houses. I guess it comes to no surprise that Palpatine was sorted into Slytherin, but where did I place the others??

I've also done this in a scheduled blog for the characters of Final Fantasy X, and I hope I can do a few more series this way.

Not a huge fan of Star Wars... but in the Harry Potter stream you can like anything except twilight.
