Yes I watched both videos. Officers appear to be justified as he was fighting them and he was confirmed to have a knife. Your second question is irrelevant, as he attempted to use it on the cops which is illegal no matter your opinion on open carry.

Blake was not fighting the officers at the time he was shot. His back was turned. Opportunities to injure another person in such a compromised position are limited. Seven shots in the back was grossly excessive as well.

That’s why people are up in arms over this.

Your position on open carry of firearms is relevant you support open carry then you have essentially no standing to object about someone concealed-carrying a knife.

Unless you also believe that anyone open-carrying a gun is happy hunting for police officers.

Which is a logically inconsistent position for anyone supporting open-carry to have.

“Up in arms” You mean burning down an innocent community. Even if the officers were completely in the wrong and it was cold blooded murder (which it wasn’t), that does not give anybody the right to burn down or vandalize an innocent community. Any attempt to justify those actions is reprehensible.

Blake was fighting officers. He had a warrant already for assault, meaning cops already knew he was a bad dude. When he went into the car, the officers aren’t going to know if he’s going to get another weapon like a gun or take a hostage. It’s simply not a chance an officer is going to take. If Blake did what any rational person did and complied with the police, he would be fine. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

There are no perfect victims in history, except maybe this one.

Even then, you could find fault with how he flouted Roman authority, pissed off the Pharisees, and caused economic disruption to innocent business owners at the Temple of Jerusalem.

I recognize “Jesus” was a pretty nice moral teacher: and the fact that a religion called Christianity exists implies that it had a founder. A leader significant enough to knock a branch Judaism off its traditional path.

The story of His crucifixion (minus the miracles, in my book) is totally plausible, given what we know about how authoritarian governments and patriarchal religions tend to react when their authority is challenged.

So: Why not Jesus?

Plausible? Perhaps. Did he actually exist? I need to see some proof, because there isn’t historical proof he actually existed. For someone of Jesus’s notoriety to have existed, you would think there would be more to his story than just the hearsay of some followers. Show me some proof if you have any, but in the meantime, let’s stick to what science can tell us is real (heehee, isreal). Until you can show proof he existed, Jesus is in the same bracket as Harry Potter or Luke Skywalker. Good characters, but ultimately fiction.
