Most people are by the age of 16 already physically mature (meaning that you can either get pregnant or make a girl pregnant). A butterfly becomes to that stage from the moment its transformation is complete, so when calculating a butterfly lifespan to a human's.... Hmmmm....

Of course 16 is in the U.S. Most other countries require 18.

Humans are one of the very few species on earth that spend so long with their parents. We don't have exact science on most other long-lived species because humans kill them before they can die of old age.
