Or abolish all parties and vote for individuals to represent us at the local level with a President voted for in a fashion similar to the present but who is also not affiliated with any party.
All high level political positions are awarded to seated representatives who are chosen in the same way an organisation hires employees, based upon their merits, willingness and fitness to fulfill the position they are applying for. So someone who is responsible for finance should have real world experience in the field of finance etc
Representation should be unbound by party affiliation and the only people the representative are answerable to are the constituents in the geographical location/seat and you must achieve the highest vote tally to be awarded the seat.
We then apply term limits and possibly allow periods with which the previously elected would have to sit out after which they could try and get re-elected to the same seat or attempt winning in any new area they may now reside.
We the people do have the power to do this.The constituition allows for us to redo it if it isn't working.
