IS SPEAKING IN TONGUES EVIDENCE OF BEING BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT? That is a big "no" because we receive the Holy Spirit of God at the moment of salvation. Besides that, biblical speaking in tongues never involved talking gibberish, as some practice in the Church today. Scripture shows that speaking in tongues does not alway occur during biblical accounts of conversions. In fact, there are plenty of conversions in the Bible where no one is speaking in tongues. Acts 2 and elsewhere in Scripture, tell us when speaking in tongues occurred. And every place it appears in the Bible, speaking in tongues is always in a known language and never gibberish like we see today. In fact, gibberish is a practice in cults and the occult. So that’s concerning, as are other of today's tongues teachings that are unbiblical. | image tagged in holy spirit, god, bible, jesus, scripture, christian | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

1 Cor 14:27 No more than two or three should speak in tongues. They must speak one at a time, and someone must interpret what they say.
