Indeed. There was discussion of this new feature on the EAM stream this morning and that’s how I found out.

At first, maybe - but there's a serious propaganda implication to liberal memes standing unquestioned and conservative memes having fiery arguments in the comments on the same feed. If the hypercons still want to turn imgflip into their echo chamber - and why let years of efforts go to waste? - they're going to want to get in on it as well, just purely as a strategic calculation.

Or maybe nobody will care at all. There's a few ways I can see this playing out.

I intend to keep all these Politics_Redux submits open for comment.

If I continue to use the disable comments feature continually in my politics submits, then it might draw more hateful commenters here to this stream, creating modding challenges for me and bot556.

Then again: so far, the few conservatives who have stumbled across this stream have tended to be respectful. Timber1972 excepted, as you might expect, but he didn’t linger around here for long.

If that same trend continues, then this stream will have accomplished one of its main purposes of fostering thoughtful cross-partisan dialogue.

Or, they could vent their frustrations being unable to pollute my politics submits by trying to burn this stream to the ground.

Yeah, it could go several different ways.
