Call me old fashioned but the tutorial is a good way to learn how to play and can have something important to the plot.

It depends on the game and the genre you play. In shooter games I usually skip it

I play a vast section of game genres but most of them have important pieces of the plot in the tutorial like Xcom 2.

maybe you should not skip the tutorial, it helps you get better and better at your skills, also dont use the hard skills while playing the tutorial cause a hint will show up later in the game.
