Like I said, this should be common knowledge and this is something kids should learn before they even start thinking about sex but it just isn't... Especially in the US it is often very scary to see what they teach about this in schools if anything. And this leads to exactly this: men who have no idea how the female body works and yet expect it to just function and women who still have questions but are being told that it's "something you don't talk about - especially not with men". It leads to people - mostly men - thinking that periods are something disgusting and that women are unclean for having them. I mean, it's much easier to find a man who doesn't even talk to a woman during her period than one who would be seen shopping for "feminine hygiene products" with a woman - let alone buying some for their wife. And even the ones who do want to be celebrated for the fact they did it because it was such a horrible experience and they could've been seen by other men. I mean, that should entitle them to at least a whole month of sex... It's just a shame how much shame is associated with menstruation.
