Its Not Going To Happen

That's the dayum truth, Raven. If there will ever be a viable third party candidate, one might have thought that the 2016 election would have produced one. But... no.

That's why we need ranked choice voting.

Would that really help a third party candidate? I don't know too much about it, other than it sounds like how pro sports select their MVPs.

Ranked choice voting is basically voting by choice. So you put your preferred candidate at number one and you go down the list. This will incentivize voting third party, and strengthen our democracy. With ranked choice voting, people won't have to ponder voting the lesser of two evils or feel like by voting third party their vote goes to waste. It will also eliminate the third party scapegoat defense for losing elections like in 2000 and 2016. Of course it won't solve all the problems, but it's a step forward in the right direction.

I'm going to give this some thought. Thanks for bringing it up. It's a very interesting idea. Do other countries use this?

Yeah, there are a couple places in the U.S. Who use it and a handful of countries that use it as well.
