Last thing: BLM's public opinion rating has been trending steadily upwards over the past few years as the many publicized incidents of police brutality have mounted, and there was a huge spike after George Floyd's particularly shocking murder.

And with all the new publicity for the movement, conservative backlash against BLM has been just as strong, but once again they're on the wrong side of history.

But Black Lives Matter isn't one of them

BLM wants police reform and other priorities listed above that wouldn't look out-of-place in any bog standard Democratic platform.

If we reform the police to not be so brutal, then you don't have a spark that ignites the justified rage of black Americans. We have known this since the days of MLK: many decades before BLM.

And yeah, there were riots after George Floyd, but they were spontaneous and not coordinated by BLM.

The irony of the above meme is that the KKK is still after all these decades not a designated terrorist group (somehow), and yet you'll frequently find Righties rushing to label BLM as such.

It should go without saying that comparing a group founded in 2013 that advocates incremental progress for blacks to the very group that has beaten, lynched, tortured, and otherwise oppressed blacks in this country for well over a century is disingenuous to the extreme

And yet: apparently it does need to be said
