The blue lives matter flag is not a sacred object. It doesn't need to be revired like one.
I "laison" with two LGBTQ police officer and one LGBTQ sheriff. One of whom is black and one of whom wears a blue live matter pin. And they all get along just fine as well.

It's possible they would find humor in this themselves. I don't know. I don't assume to speak for them. But having known them and having the sorts of conversations I've had with them, it's likely going to be a good topic to bring up with them.
