I see this behavior all of the time, and I consider it a mental disorder.

Well maybe endless arguing with trolls is something that you enjoy and look forward to participating in. But it is not my cup of tea. I do not need to strengthen my own arguments before I go into a voting booth and vote my conscience. And I refuse to spend countless hours arguing with trolls.

As an addendum... One thing that I learned about trolls is that when you ignore the biggest ones, not only do they give up bugging you, but their alts give up too!
