But it's never too late, as a wise person once said: Kylie, I think. | The cult-ification and increasingly conspiracy-theory driven politics in America; is becoming one of the biggest obstacles to having a functioning democracy. How can we get anything done; when so many people are totally uninterested in reality anymore? Any time you try to talk to anyone from one of these bubbles; it's like trying to rescue someone from a cult compound. The problem is, there is no physical location for these cults anymore. They are in everyone's homes. They are coming in through TVs, radio stations, podcasts, Youtube videos, and Facebook. No matter how much progress you make in one-on-one conversations, online or in-person, all that work will unravel within a short period of time when they go straight back to the reinforcement mechanisms of their favorite media outlets and the algorithms of their Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube feeds. There is no escape from today's cults, unless you can convince people to cut themselves off from all these nodes of disinformation pumping nonsense 24/7. | image tagged in kylie never too late, kylie never too late album cover, fake news, democracy, cult, nonsense | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
