[Here are those sweet lyrics. And my instant track review reposted from a meme below:]
And... the track is a banger.
Several listens in. This song is lyrically touching, with many glancing but unmistakable references to the Covid-19 situation we're all in globally: From "We're a million miles apart, in a thousand ways" to "Love is love, it never ends / Can we all be as one again?"
Ironically, this song was written last year. But it's hard to believe some lyrical tweaks weren't made in the meantime to make this 100% on-point.
Musically, it's washy, downtempo with a resolute beat, suggesting both uncertainty and perseverance to get through this together. A swooping choir joins in at the end as she repeats her final plea for us all to be as one again.
I can definitely picture her recording this from her home studio, restless to get out and perform again. Such a pitch-perfect song for our current mood. Love love love.
Good track review here.
