The quality of American education in global rankings has dropped ever since.

That too. It is time to get back to basic education by getting indoctrination and the teacher unions out the class rooms and school boards.

I think that ship has sailed on education and its name is the HMS Titanic :(

Ironically, despite the United States having the second-best education system in the world, it consistently scores lower than many other countries in benchmarks such as math and science. my buddy is married to a math teacher, their kid is in HS, my buddy is in his early 50's. they did a math contest, the kid did math the common core way, my buddy the way he was taught in the 70's and 80's, my buddy was almost twice as fast doing the math problems
