Why do people say that Neville would have defeated Voldemort if Harry wasn’t born?

there was a prophecy made of which the content was that a boy born at the end of july, whose parents has defied voldemort thrice and to whom voldemort will mark him his equal(he'll have powers not known by voldemort (which is love)), will either kill voldemort or voldemort will kill him. there were 2 boys who were neville and harry. so, if harry wasnt born, voldemort would've marked neville his equal, and neville would've become the chosen one.

though there is a possibility that neville might have died or his parents wouldnt have died for him...so its not 100% right to say that neville would've killed voldemort

The prophecy neither can live while the other survives is more in depth in the books. They say the one to vanquish the dark lord with be born at the end of the seventh month to parents who thrice defied him, to whom voldemort will mark as his equal, would have a power he would not have, love. The reason voldy is unable to love, is that his dad was the under a love potion from his mother Merope Gaunt. When a parent is under a love potion when the child is born, the child will not be able to love. So if Harry wasn’t born than he maybe could have. But if neville’s parent’s didn’t die for him.... than it isn’t exactly correct to say he could have.

Why is Ravenclaw's symbol an eagle and not a raven?

Throughout history an eagle has been a symbol of intelligence and excellence in many pieces of literature. For Ravenclaw, It is a symbol of being able to soar where others cannot, which is a factor of Ravenclaw House, being inclined in intellectual ability AKA soaring higher than others in knowledge. As the sorting hat song (from the books only) in 4th year states: for Ravenclaws, would always be the best.
