General Lee surrendered to General Grant and in just two months, slavery ended. So.

So through Robert E Lee's actions, hundreds of years of slavery ended in just two months.

This is one of the dumbest takes on history I've ever seen.

He didn't end slavery, he gave on protecting it. The war was over. If he hadn't surrendered, they still would have lost. When you get evicted from your home, nobody thanks you for leaving - you were going to leave anyway, even if you had to be dragged out.

The South wasn't "evicted".
They left.
There's a difference.
The North kidnapped them and made them stay.
We call that "Taken Hostage".
I guess the South was too much of a cash cow to let go.

The South wasn't theirs to take. They were an illegitimate government of traitors and they were forcibly removed from their governance as well they should have been.

They deserve no respect. None.

That "illegitimate government of traitors" was invaded by the North and taken hostage.
They blocked ports with WARSHIPS.
They stole profits from the South's cotton exports.
The North was embezzling the South's money, so when the South created a new type of currency, the North had a shit fit and waged war.

The Southern States paid State taxes to the Southern States.
Why would the North want to take their money?
Did the North pay any taxes to the South?
Did the Union pay any taxes to the Confederacy?

How many Northern Whites were enslaved by the South?

The reason the South wanted to secede from the union is within the name, "Confederate".
Con (as in pros and cons) means "against".
So the South was AGAINST having a Federal Banking system, which would allow the North to take money earned by the South's export market, and apply it towards welfare for the lazy Socialists in the North.

As far as the South was concerned, they were the ones who earned money, therefore they had a say in how it would be spent:
Improvements in agriculture,
Shipbuilding so they could control their own exports,
Universities and hospitals in the South,
And, yes, even dissolving the need for slave labor.

But the North hated the idea of losing their cut, so they spread false rumors (Uncle Tom's Cabin was a work of fiction) and propaganda, to prevent Europe from interfering with the North's invasion of the South.

They waged war, blocked Southern shipping ports, bombed railroads, burned crops, raided homes, raped Southern women, and cut off supply lines of food, forcing the South to give in to their bullying.

But even after the Civil War, the abuse didn't end.
The South wasn't given adequate representation in Government.
Western migration was blocked so any new states would belong to the Democrat Party's Socialist platform, further hampering the Southern Capitalists' political voice.

And whatever wasn't stolen during the Civil War was "Taxed" by the Northern Carpetbaggers, leaving the South in ruins.

Now you know.

History Lesson:

After the war of 1812, South Carolina needed to protect their shipping ports, so they built a fort in Charleston Harbor.
The U.S. Army volunteered to run Fort Sumter and guard the harbor from outside threats.
However, they turned their guns toward Charleston, saying "Now that we have control of the harbor, you can't ship any cotton unless you pay the toll. We demand 48%".
That's how the Civil War began.
It had NOTHING to do with Slavery.
