There will never come a time when sacrificing civil liberties is necessary for the common good

Where have you been the last 200yrs?

You pay property tax?
You pay taxes?
You buy insurance?
You travel roads?
You pay to keep people in jails?
You pay for police?

If you don't want to do any of those things for fear of losing your civil liberties, you need to find an island somewhere so that the rest of society doesn't need to deal with your sorry ass.

None of those things infringe upon civil liberties and are known elements of a well established social contract. You can name call all you want but if you advocate for defunding police you clearly haven't followed CHOP and haven't done any research. You are delusional if you don't feel property tax infringes upon your civil liberties. You don't own your home even if it is paid for, none of us do. Your local government owns your home.

1. You can't drive 85mph in a 65mph zone, and not expect a ticket. No matter how well you drive, you cannot go any faster than a 100yr old granny who can't see 2'. A societal norm.
2. Most states won't allow you to ride a motorcycle without a helmet because it will cost the rest of society money when you get brain damage.
3. Many states require you to wear seat belts because it will cost the rest of us money when you get into a car accident.
4. Everyone should be required to wear a face mask in public to reduce the cost and minimize the loss of freedom for society and get this pandemic under control like the rest of the developed world has.

We all give up small civil liberties for society every day. It happens as a common, every day occurrence.
