I use ropes on my shop doors, but they're tied in knots, not nooses, save for one chain on a spring, heavy door. I use ropes on my doors, one chain, but my ropes are tied with 3 knots, bottom, middle, top. But somebody either bored or thought it funny, tied it into a noose. A real noose has 13 loops.

I personally use a piece of cast iron pipe on mine, kinda like a subway handle. and yes I have walked into it b4 lol
