Bill Barr, as Attorney General, has full jurisdiction over FBI investigations. So when troves of evidence get seized from all of Epstein's properties, and any investigation into his Pedo-Network fizzles, Bill Barr is the one to look at.

Trump was still hanging out with Epstein like 4 years before he would run for president. And even named along with him in child rape cases, that were conveniently dropped after witnesses had their lives threatened.
