There was a lot of tough work between the Seneca Falls convention in 1848 to the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920.

The suffragette movement these days often seems taken for granted or forgotten. But the ratification of the 19th Amendment was neither easy nor inevitable. It took 70+ years of activism to get there.
