"Pesten" is a game played with a regular deck of cards. All players start with 7 cards and the one who can get rid of all of them first is the winner, just like Uno so far. Now on the table is a card, and you must play a card of either same suit or same value as that on the table.
Now the name of the game "pesten" is in Dutch a verb meaning "to bully", so you see it coming you can bully each other. The rules on how you can bully each other vary a bit per group you play the game with, but I'll explain the rules as I always played it. When you play a "pestkaart" (lit: Bully card) you can get an extra effect.
Ace - Can be played anyway, the suit on the ace is the suit we play on with
2 - Next player draws two cards, unless they can play another card that force the next player to draw cards and then this can stack up (the record I've seen was that somebody had to draw 49 cards)
3 - Reverse game flow direction. Game starts clockwise, but when a 3 is player the direction is counter-clockwise until a new 3 is played then it's clockwise again. (this rule is a bit void if you only have 2 players).
7 - Play another card
8 - Next player skip turn
Jack - Change the suit the next card that is played must have
Joker - Can always be played next player draws 5 cards unless another card forcing the draw cards is played, effect stacks up. You may also define the suit the next card played must have. This card may NOT be the final card.
When you only have 1 card left you must either knock on the table or yell "laatste kaart" (final card), if you forget to do that in time you must draw 5 cards as punishment.
And that is the basics of "Pesten".
