I had this argument so many times. And honestly I'm just going to end it with people or just being stupid.

Defunding them does not mean we get rid of the police.

but if we defund the police then who will protect us when we need them? and if we defund the police people will complain about how the police "did not do their jobs" so we should not defund the police but something does need to be done tho. but with peaceful ideas.

The police will still be around if we defund them. It merely means reallocating some of their funds (like the money spent on military grade equipment) and use those funds for something like a community building or project. This would financially motivate police and give them less dangerous weapons. We also need to fire those academy teachers that teach police about a "war on crime". This can make the police more willing to fire their weapons, since they were taught that it was a war.

I understand your concern, but defunding them is the best option right now, and it does not mean getting rid of the police force.

i can understand that, however though people will still complain and say the police did not do their job.

Their will be some police resistance, but ultimately if you are a good cop, then you will do your job no matter what.
