I do love a good anti-upvote-begging meme. But whining about it endlessly in comments sections? Count me out.

I like a good upvote begging meme. Hell I’ve made a couple myself. My 200 upvotes or I’ll eat my hat (the hat was clearly a cake) got me more upvotes than all my clever memes ever did.

My personal opinion is the endless whining about upvote begging is in itself about begging for upvotes. Look at me! I’m making meme for you to upvote to prove how much you share my opinion!

Now the crap memes of upvote mine and I’ll upvote ten of yours is annoying. They aren’t even trying to be funny. Those I never respond to.

Indeed, some upvote-begging memes are quality. Rare but it happens.

In addition to personal satisfaction, viewership matters more to me, personally. Upvoting has some correlation to viewership, but it’s not everything.
