Great meme! Do you have a question you would like to discuss?

Yes. Do you think praying out loud might just make all the difference?

Hmmm. I don't think to God it really matters all that much whether you pray aloud or in your heart. Although Jesus did say don't mumble in the street corner but go into your room so as not to be noticed for your piety. Heartfelt prayer can also inspire or comfort those who might hear it. It all depends on your intention I guess. Are you doing it for show or to really help others and honor God? Great question!

thanks. i'm an agnostic, so this meme was made for others to think about. i was thinking about gofundme yesterday, and then when i saw kewlew's meme on the praying child, i thought 'what a much better idea!' if others can hear your prayers, maybe some of them will choose to act on it (and hopefully in a helpful way). and imagine if everyone did that instead of having a quiet, personal chat with the god(s) of their choice. there would be drawbacks, of course, but I think it's worth trying as a social experiment.

So, this would be the opposite of "If you tell your wish it won't come true"? Because I do believe that when you keep your wishes to yourself you're much less likely to get what you want. But the whole praying thing is not my scene so I won't comment on that.

I don’t know. While you’re in church or openly worshipping, definitely pray out loud. But everywhere else, I prefer in my heart. Jesus did say in the Bible to not pray like pagans to get noticed, but to go into your room and close your door. I think it all depends on the situation. Idk if you’re Christian or not, but maybe look up some Bible verses or seek out major church leaders like the Pope or popular speakers.

it's up to each person's heart and mind, of course. i'm an agnostic, and not suggesting that prayer out loud is for the purpose of getting noticed, but my understanding is that God does some of his work thru agents here on Earth. if a culture decided the norm was to pray out loud, more of His agents would be informed, and also better informed ( :

It really depends. For me, I feel the spiritual battle and see it's evidence readily, and I believe that satan does not have the same attributes as God, he can't know our thoughts and what is ahead of us, he can only play off of what we do and say and use that to tempt us. So for me, praying out loud is a blatant attack on the enemy. Praying in my heart or writing my prayers down rather than out loud is something really close between me and God, and it's more like having a conversation with Him and seeking Him with answers. Like when I'm praying with someone else then I also tend to view it as an attack on the Enemy because usually that's what it is, pleading God to pierce the Enemy's attacks and keep us on the right path, on His plan for our lives.
