The point is that it is all the same thing - the forest and the trees are the same thing viewed from different perspectives, so it's silly to deride one for the sake of the other. Humanity needs both perspectives.

If 100 trees are being cut down per week in forest A and 23 trees are being cut down per week in forest B which forest is the priority? Forest A.
