I'm Not Jealous, I Just Want To Know

That's an interesting question. I knew Harry Truman was the poorest president, but when I looked it up he was worth $7,000,000 (2019 standard accounting for inflation so it would've been a lot less when he was alive). That's not really poor but compared to the other presidents it was. I would guess that the reason presidents are rich people is because they've worked their whole lives building that wealth, so they're obviously going to be smart for being able to get that. I'd say it boils down to their success more than the money itself.

Because they're the ones getting all the attention. That's the one problem with Capitalism; the poor are put down and the rich get all the leadership positions, even if they aren't capable of it. Not that socialism does much better; the way it's set up, it's either destined to collapse in on itself, or become a world of censorship and indoctrination. If you want me to explain, I can.

Just out of curiosity, if capitalism and socialism are both terrible, what should we use?

In the book of Acts, the church at Jerusalem used a system that at first glance looks rather like socialism, but there were some fundamental differences:
- The church gave financial support only to those who needed it
- The believers shared not because it was required, but because Christ had transformed their hearts so that they gave of free will
- The believers often still had businesses of their own, though they gave some of the profits to the church
- And most importantly, it was God, not the Apostles, who directed the going-ons.

So basically capitalism where everyone is generous and helps those in need?

Maybe... that wouldn't be necessarily how I'd put it, but ok. Another thing is that unlike capitalism, it's not every man for himself. They all still rely on God to provide for their needs, though how He does it can vary greatly (trust me, I know from experience!). Also (this is getting off-topic), congrats on your upcoming wedding to _melon_!
