Logical Fallacy Referee NFL #85 | FLAG ON THE PLAY | image tagged in logical fallacy referee nfl 85 | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Its entirely possibly to be offended by Kaepnerick's choice of kneeling during the national anthem, and be appalled by the death of George Floyd.

In case you didn't know.

Yes, I agree. But that's not the point of this meme. This comment by Pastor Herron refers to those who were incensed by a person of color protesting America's treatment of minorities, yet are willing to brush off yet another example of what Kaepernick was protesting in the first place. Hundreds of thousands of white people rose up in anger over Kaepernick respectfully kneeling in front of the flag but where have they been since then when innocent and unarmed black people are still being killed by cops? Shot in the back of the head, in the back, choked and suffocated, shot while running away (unarmed), shot while sleeping and on and on. I'm not being sarcastic when I ask, quite seriously, when did America institute the death penalty for being unarmed and black? Pastor Herron is asking why we rise up over the figure of a privileged black man taking a knee but we don't rise up when police officers, an arm of our government, continue to kill unarmed and non resisting black Americans.

"This comment by Pastor Herron refers to those who were incensed by a person of color protesting America's treatment of minorities, yet are willing to brush off yet another example of what Kaepernick was protesting in the first place."

There in lies the rub with the logic again. The meme assumes that the death of George Floyd is "being rubbed off and dismissed:. That is nonsense, and its further shown to be nonsense by linking to Kaepernick in a ridiculous either/or fallacy.

Next you move from logical fallacy to divisive racial rhetoric.

"I'm not being sarcastic when I ask, quite seriously, when did America institute the death penalty for being unarmed and black? Pastor Herron is asking why we rise up over the figure of a privileged black man taking a knee but we don't rise up when police officers, an arm of our government, continue to kill unarmed and non resisting black Americans."

Instances of police brutality is not specifically a black american problem. It is an American problem that impacts all of society as a whole. If you actually believe only black americans are subjected to such things then there is little point in going any further, as any evidence of facts to the contrary will be dismissed by you.

Move on Bob. Find another target. Perhaps you can create a meme or other form of expression that does a better job of portraying YOUR point.

We need justice, not inflaming comments from the president.

justice is a process...perhaps we also need patience

Patience? Is decades of waiting not enough? How many of your unarmed family members have cops shot in the back? In the head? While sleeping? In their car while reaching for ID? Have you even been paying attention? If you can’t handle and honest question spoken by a pastor this afternoon, please, please, move on.

Its clear you don't understand what is meant by "justice". Justice relates to each case individually. You haven't waited "for decades" in relation to the RECENT death of George Floyd. You want justice for George Floyd, you have to be patient.

I suspect you are talking about something else though. So why don't you just explain what it is you want specifically.

It’s clear you are capable of looking at singular concrete examples. Good job. I don’t want anything from you specifically. Again, if this statement doesn’t apply to you, move on Bob.

The statement was addressed to all Americans, which I am. So Bob will not be moving on. Okay, Skippy?

My requesting for you to clarify what you want, was not meant to be construed as me giving something to you. Rather, it was a request for you to articulate what you would like to see at a society level.

Obviously you missed the point. If it doesn’t apply to you just move on.

Obviously, you and the pastor are incapable of rational thought and create a false either/or choice paradigm as a result.
