Yes, I agree. But that's not the point of this meme. This comment by Pastor Herron refers to those who were incensed by a person of color protesting America's treatment of minorities, yet are willing to brush off yet another example of what Kaepernick was protesting in the first place. Hundreds of thousands of white people rose up in anger over Kaepernick respectfully kneeling in front of the flag but where have they been since then when innocent and unarmed black people are still being killed by cops? Shot in the back of the head, in the back, choked and suffocated, shot while running away (unarmed), shot while sleeping and on and on. I'm not being sarcastic when I ask, quite seriously, when did America institute the death penalty for being unarmed and black? Pastor Herron is asking why we rise up over the figure of a privileged black man taking a knee but we don't rise up when police officers, an arm of our government, continue to kill unarmed and non resisting black Americans.
